Terms and Conditions
Rebuilding your relationship with food
Introduction
We are The Food Therapy Clinic (English company number 11881585).
Online Self-Help Programmes: Guarantee Policy
We are so confident that you will notice improvements in how you feel about yourself, food and your body after using the online course that if you have access to the online course for 48 hours and do not feel it would be of benefit to you, we will allow you to claim a refund of the cost of the course less a £20 administration fee. You can only claim your refund within 48 hours of purchasing the online course and you will lose access to the course at this point. To claim your refund please email info@thefoodtherapyclinic.com.
If you do not dispute these terms or claim a refund within the 48 hours window you will be deemed to have consented to these terms. Under no circumstances can any refunds be issued for any self-help programmes more than 48 hours after a course is purchased.
Online Self-Help Programmes: General Terms
You will be granted access to the online programme shortly after purchasing the course at courses.thefoodtherapyclinic.com. By purchasing access to the course you are granted one license to utilise the materials in the course for personal use only. You may not share your login details to the course with any other individual or corporation and may not sell, distribute or otherwise use any of the materials in the course for any other purpose.
You will have access to any new or updated materials should any of the content of the course be revised. You will be given ongoing access to the materials in the course for a period of 6 months from your purchase date.
Any remote therapy sessions purchased with the online course must be used within a period of 5 calendar months from the purchase date. If you have purchased any one-one sessions with your online programme please also read the terms below that apply to one-on-one sessions.
Should the website server be down or any other technical issues prevent access to the online course, we will use reasonable endeavours to resolve these issues as swiftly as possible. However we accept no liability should the online course be inaccessible for a period of time due to technical faults.
Before making any changes to your diet, lifestyle or to any medications that you are taking, we would recommend that you first consult with your GP, doctor or another medical professional. Changes to your diet and lifestyle require commitment and an ongoing effort. Whilst we are confident that you will notice improvements in how you feel about and behave around food, as every individual responds differently to the treatment programmes, we cannot guarantee that this treatment will cure or completely resolve any eating disorder or issue around food.
When you purchase the online programme you will be encouraged to send weekly email updates on your progress. We also have access to your responses to the quizzes and surveys in the programme. It is kindly requested that you only send email updates once a week and not more frequently than this unless you have an urgent request regarding access to the programme or the availability of the materials. This also applies for anyone purchasing the self-help programmes with one or two one-on-one sessions. If you feel that you need more regular support than this, we would suggest opting for one of our one-on-one session packages instead.
The service that you are paying for is access to the online programme. Whilst we encourage you send weekly updates for the first 8 weeks that you have access to the programme and will endeavour to respond to these emails as soon as possible, this does not constitute a part of the service that you are paying for and we can make no guarantees as to the frequency of any such contact. We will endeavour to reply to any of your emails within a reasonable period of time but can make no guarantees as to how quickly we will be able to respond to any email queries.
The online self-help programmes are for information only and are not intended to constitute medical advice or be a replacement for in-person psychotherapy.
One-on-one Sessions: Payment and Cancellation Policy
To secure your appointment booking we require full payment of the session cost at least 48 hours before your appointment. If you do not make payment of the full amount for the session at least 48 hours prior to the session, your appointment will be cancelled. This full payment will be refunded in full if you cancel/re-schedule your appointment with at least 48 hours notice. If you would like to purchase one of the session packages, this must be paid for in full 48 hours before your first session booking.
If you are unable to attend your appointment for any reason please inform The Food Therapy Clinic by emailing info@thefoodtherapyclinic.com as soon as possible. You must give at least 48 hours notice to cancel your appointment. If you give less than 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your session, you will be charged in full for the session.
Whilst we endeavour not to cancel any appointments, where The Food Therapy Clinic is required to cancel your appointment for any reason, you will be given as much notice as is possible.
Any therapy sessions purchased must be held within five calendar months of the purchase date. When purchasing a therapy package, all sessions must be held within five calendar months from the date on which the package was purchased.
One-on-one Sessions: Refunds
Once you have had and attended a session run by The Food Therapy Clinic you cannot under any circumstances claim a refund for this session that you have already attended.
If you decide to cancel a session that you have purchased with at least 48 hours’ advance notice, then you are entitled to claim a full refund for that session.
Where you have paid for a package of sessions, you will have received each session within that package at a discounted rate. If you decide to then cancel any sessions within that package you will owe The Food Therapy Clinic the individual-session cost for each of the sessions you have already had (at the normal and undiscounted rate) and will then be entitled to a refund of the balance that you have paid for the package.
Refunds will be processed as soon as possible and you will receive your refund within a calendar month of submitting the claim for the refund.

where we have reason to suspect that you may cause or have knowledge which may lead to the harm of a child, vulnerable adult or other person;
-
where we reasonably suspect that you have been involved in or have knowledge of past or future criminal activities , including terrorism or money laundering and where such activities have not been resolved at law;
-

-
where we are otherwise required by law to disclose confidential information that is provided to us.

One-on-one Sessions: Client Responsibility
Changes to your diet and lifestyle require commitment and an ongoing effort. Whilst we are confident that you will notice improvements in how you feel about and behave around food, as every individual responds differently to the treatment, we cannot guarantee that this treatment will cure or completely resolve any eating disorder or issue around food.
Before making any changes to your diet, lifestyle or to any medications that you are taking, we would recommend that you first consult with your GP, doctor or another medical professional.
One-on-one Sessions: Therapeutic Boundaries
The treatment that you are paying for is the face-to-face or online contact time with the Food Therapy Clinic therapist (which may be via Skype, Zoom or Facetime or in the clinic). Whilst we will follow-up with you between sessions, this does not constitute a part of the service that you are paying for and we can make no guarantees as to the frequency of any such contact. We will endeavour to reply to any of your emails within a reasonable period of time but can make no guarantees as to how quickly we will be able to respond to any queries between sessions.
In order to ensure that you derive the most value from this treatment, it is important that some boundaries are established between you and your therapist:
- Unless specifically asked to do so, please only contact your therapist by email and do not use any other means of communication (including telephone, Whatsapp or social media) to interact with your therapist.
- Please respect your therapist's privacy in their personal and professional life and do not endeavour to ask your therapist questions about their personal life.
- Unless specifically told otherwise or in the case of any emergency, please aim to only send your therapist updates on your progress and questions/concerns every 3 days at most.
- Please be respectful of the duty of care that your therapist owes other clients and do not contact your therapist multiple times over the course of one day unless requested to do so.
- Our therapists are not entitled by their professional bodies to connect with you or interact with you on social media. Please be mindful of this requirement and do not endeavour to interact with your therapist via social media
.
