Helping you to build a family
We help you to address psychological and physiological barriers to conception.
Psychotherapy, counselling and hypnotherapy for Fertility
Psychotherapy, counselling and hypnotherapy to help optimise your chances of getting pregnant and manage the stress of your fertility journey.
We often assume that it should be easy and straightforward to start a family. However, 1 in 7 couples in the UK struggle with fertility challenges. It can be extremely difficult for both men and women to struggle to conceive. Struggling with your fertility can affect your confidence and self-esteem, your relationship with your body, your relationship with your partner and others and generally cause you to feel low, hopeless and lost in life.
Are someone that has not had a period for a while, has irregular periods, has been diagnosed with hypothalamic amenorrhea or PCOS and found yourself struggling to conceive?
Do you feel as though those around you seem to be able to eat as much as they want to and stay slim but you are always struggling, counting calories, restricting your food intake and still you cannot seem to lose weight?
Or perhaps you are someone that has been told that you have a low sperm count or hight levels of sperm DNA fragmentation.
Maybe you have been told that making changes to your diet and lifestyle and managing your stress levels could optimise your chances of a successful pregnancy?
Maybe you are just thinking about starting a family for the first time and know that optimising your diet and lifestyle for 3 months before conception will be beneficial for you and your future child.
Or perhaps you are thinking about undergoing fertility treatment and wondering whether there is anything you can do to maximise the chances of it being effective?
Whether male or female and whatever reason you have for struggling with your fertility we can help you to look at the psychological and physical aspects of what you are going through and help you to optimise your chances of conceiving. Both stress and diet/lifestyle can have a significant effect on fertility and by working on both mind and body, we can put you in a much better position to embark on your fertility journey.
Our Approach
Psychotherapy for fertility - working with mind and body to help prepare your body to have a child.
Lifestyle choices made in the 3 months prior to pregnancy both for men and women can have a significant impact on reproductive outcomes and the health of a future child. This is why many individuals seek to optimise both their mental and physical health before trying to conceive. We can help you to optimise mind and body in order to prepare your body for conceiving.
We offer psychotherapy and counselling for fertility that also builds in relaxation techniques such as hypnotherapy and looks at other lifestyle interventions such as optimising diet and sleep quality.
Some individuals also struggle to conceive for a variety of reasons. Women dealing with PCOS, hypothalamic amenorrhea, irregular menstrual cycles, previous birth-trauma and a range of other issues can have both psychological and physical barriers to conception. Men dealing with low sperm count/motility/morphology, high levels of DNA fragmentation or other issues can also find it difficult to conceive. Many of the causes of infertility can be improved upon with psychological and lifestyle support and interventions. We help you to feel your best and to cope effectively with your fertility journey so that you can maximise your chances of a successful pregnancy.
We Understand What You May Be Going Through
We know how fertility challenges can take a toll on your mental and physical health
We understand that every month can involve grief and loss as the menstrual cycle arrives and your hopes of conceiving are dashed again.
We know how difficult it can be to hear stories of those around you getting pregnant and how challenging it is to attend baby showers and gatherings with lots of children around.
We know that learning that something within your body is affecting your chances of conceiving can make you feel angry and down about yourself and your body.
We know that navigating the world of ART (assisted reproductive technologies) and deciding what are the best options for you, can be tough and draining (emotionally, financially and physically).
We know that fertility challenges can make you feel lost and leave you questioning your purpose in life.
We know that this time is probably very difficult for you and bringing up a range of complex emotions. We are here to support you with your mental and physical health through this journey.
