Many people struggling with bulimia will use a range of strategies such as purging, fasting, extreme food restriction or lots of exercise to try and control their weight, however there is a much more helpful way to maintain the healthy body weight that you see as ideal.  You may be trapped in a vicious cycle of trying to restrict/ control your food intake but then finding yourself bingeing and feeling out of control around food. You may also find yourself thinking a lot about food, your weight and your body.  However, maintaining a healthy weight doesn't need to be so exhausting and time consuming. We help you to see how you can feel good about yourself and your body with a flexible and balanced approach to food. 

We understand why you are stuck in this vicious cycle of bingeing and then punishing yourself with purging/exercise/fasting/food restriction and can help you to reverse the patterns that cause this cycle so that you can achieve permanent change. There are often a range of factors that keep you trapped in this cycle and they could include things such as: your body image and how you feel about your body; your stress levels; nutritional-deficiencies; patterns of behaviour that you have learnt through your life; your confidence levels; your sleeping patterns and more. We explore your bulimia from a range of different angles to ensure that we can help you to find long-term resolution and free you to just get on with enjoying your life.

Most therapists do not understand nutrition and most nutritionists do not understand psychology but the unique method used at the clinic allows us to explore both and so that we can successfully help you to resolve your issues around food for the long-term.

Much like driving, dancing or any other skill that we perform on auto-pilot - our eating patterns can become unhealthy automatic responses to triggers such as stress, sadness or loneliness. Using techniques such as hypnotherapy those automatic, unhealthy habits can be reversed for good.  However an understanding of nutrition is also key to enable you to make lasting changes.  Unlike other therapists we won’t just recommend that you distract yourself from bingeing/purging - we know exactly what changes are optimal for achieving long-term health and happiness.
